For those with just a day to spare, hop on this early-morning tour from Dar es Salaam. 05:00 AM: Depart Dar es salaam by road after an early morning cup of tea/ coffee or hot chocolate. The drive takes about 5 hours (280 km) from Dar es Salaam. Once at Morogoro town you will enjoy breakfast(at an extra fee) and proceed on to Mikumi National Park.
10.30AM: Arrive at the Park and proceed on a Game Drive. Animals to be seen include baboon, monkey, elephant, rhino, giraffe, zebra, eland, buffalo, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, hartebeest, etc. Tree-climbing Lions (rarely) can be spotted here as well as giraffes, elands, hartebeests, Impalas, leopards, warthogs, wildebeests, and African wild-dogs! The park is an excellent birding destination with over 400 species. The landscape of the park is defined by baobab, acacias, tamarinds, and some rare palm trees.
12:30PM: Lunch at Mikumi Wildlife Camp. Right after lunch plus a little rest, continue for an afternoon of game drive within Mikumi National Park. You will be able to have 3 to 4 Hours of Game Drive around the Park. Mikumi National Park is about 280 km west of Dar es salaam.
15:30 PM: Depart Mikumi by road back to Dar-es-Salaam with a stopover in Chalinze Town for the washroom.
20:00 PM: Drop you off at your residence or hotel in Dar es Salaam.
