Best Seasons to Travel to Tanzania

To fully enjoy the safari you dream of, Tanzania enjoys a pleasant climate , with temperatures that vary little. Located near the equator, the country can be visited all year round .

The climate is temperate and pleasant during the day inland. The average altitude is 1,500 meters, so mornings and evenings are cooler and nights sometimes cold. On the coast, temperatures, even at night, never fall below 20°.

The dry season periods, from January to March, then from June to November are more often chosen to discover the country. They are the most suitable for traveling in Tanzania, and for observing animals in most parks (Tarangire, Ngorongoro). This is the time when we observe the most animals , and the most easily (grouped around watering holes for example) thanks to more sparse vegetation.

Please note that when you choose a date in the dry season coupled with a school holiday period (in July, August and December), the prices are higher and there are more tourists .

Between January and March, the weather is sunny , it is the ideal period to admire the great migration of wildebeest and other herbivores in the Ndutu region. It is also the birth period for wildebeest and zebras.

The short rainy season from mid-November and December is pleasant (the short showers are nocturnal and not very disturbing), there are fewer people, the days are beautiful and the lights extraordinary.

However, some travelers prefer off-season periods, such as April and May, during the main rainy season , to enjoy less crowds for safaris in the natural parks . It is also a good season for bird watching.

In conclusion, the northern parks (those we offer in our tour), are accessible all year round and the observation of animals is done in all seasons. Our guides are used to tracking animals whatever the weather.
